This is a project that all Year 7 students at Emerald Secondary College complete during Semester 1

Your task is to accumulate at least 80 points. SEAL students need to get at least 100 points. You may only complete one task from each cultural sections. Points are awarded in the following way:

Task One = 10 points
Task Two = 20 points
Task Three = 30 points

You will also need to hand in the main project sheet highlighting the tasks you have completed. You should try to complete all tasks in your own words.

For the project you will be awarded a grade from excellent-unsatisfactory depending on how well you complete the tasks.

Arts in Japan	Haiku Poem - Give a brief description of what hail is and it's rules then write one on a topic of your choice in English.	Make of poster/powerpoint/photostory of 3 different arts in Japan.	Re-enact a Japanese custom such as a tea ceremony or try a bit of Japanese art
Festivals	Make a Tanabata wish branch for your HG	Make up a wordsearch with different Japanese festivals	Write a fictional story about what Kenji did for New Year in Japan.
Tourist Attractions	Make up a plan for climbing Mt Fuji	Plan your route for visiting 5 different tourist attractions in Kyoto	Make a Tourist Brochure for a Japanese City
Sports in Japan	Make a model for a dohyo	Make 3 baseball cards for famous Japanese players.	Put together a video of different Japanese sports
Japanese Music	Write down the lyrics for 2 Japanese Children’s songs	Make a J-pop Cd cover of hot hits 2014	Learn to sing and then record a Japanese song.
Technology	Type out the National Anthem in Japanese and also write the English meaning.	List with pictures and a short description 5 weird and 5 useful Japanese inventions.	Write out a self introduction in Japanese and then record it onto an IPAD.
Daily Life	Fill in a chart comparing some basic details between Australian and Japanese schools.	Make a time line for a day in the life of a Japanese Student.	For the average Aussie tourist produce a short movie of do and don’ts for a visit to Japan.
